Mercure Southampton Centre Dolphin Hotel

We are a beautiful Grade II listed building located at the heart of Southampton’s Old Town. We are not only surrounded in history but we are part of history ourselves as we are over 500 years old and famously known for being where Jane Austen celebrated her 18th Birthday. We are an impressive building that boasts two of the largest bay windows in the UK, and some of our bedrooms are situated in the old stables and feature the original beams.

We are only a 5 minute walk from Southampton's Registry Office and we are easily accessible as we are located on Southampton’s High Street. We are only a mile away from Southampton Central Station and less than 5 miles from Southampton Airport.

We now home 99 bedrooms, which due to the hotels age are all unique in size but all offer excellent comforts including, flat screen TVs with Freeview, Iron & Ironing Board, safe, Tea & Coffee making facilities, guest toiletries and complimentary Wi-Fi.

As well as our 99 bedrooms we are home to the famous Jane Austen Suite. This room draws Jane Austen enthusiasts from all over the world that just want to stand in the room where she had danced the night away. Adorned with the above mentioned bay windows this room makes for an impressive event space that can hold up to 80 guests for a banquet. It can also be divided into two separate rooms for smaller more intimate weddings.

Along with our Jane Austen Suite we have the equally impressive Gilbert Room which boasts its own bar and serves excellently as a reception room to the Jane Austen Suite for the large celebrations and events that take place.
